Miguel Angel Carrillo

Miguel Angel Carrillo is a first generation Mexican American born and raised in Los Angeles California. He began his musical studies at a young age. His father was a musician and encouraged Miguel to use his talent in music. His first instrument was the drums, the violin and later fell in love with the sound of the Spanish Guitar. Miguel is a classically trained guitarist with ten years of performing experience.

He is currently studying Flamenco guitar with one of today’s top Flamenco guitarist, an adjunct assistant professor of Studio Jazz Guitar at USC, Adam Del Monte. He was also the winner of the David A. Alpert Scholarship from the Department of Music at Los Angeles City College on May 22, 2008.

Miguel currently performs in the band Sazon The Quartet, a Los Angeles based group with Latin roots. Sazon is an eclectic fusion of Nuevo-Flamenco, Bossa Nova and Jazz.

Sazon has performed throughout Los Angeles for a variety of fundraisers & mixers at venues such as Bowers Museum, The LA Wine Fest at Raleigh Studios, The House Of Blues Foundation Room), the LAPD Badge and Honor Fundraiser for the Chief of Police and the Mayor plus Oprah Winfreys “O” Magazine private dinner party.

Miguel continues his musical journey constantly collaborating with musicians.
