Robert G. Rose is a social and television entrepreneur and travel journalist focused on developing business models that target underserved audiences while producing content and media “that matter.” Since 2000, Rose has produced over 700 original episodes of television while negotiating partnerships with major marketers and media outlets worldwide.
Rose’s love of travel surfaced when he moved from his native Tennessee to New York City to work for Univision, the nation’s largest Spanish-language TV network. It was there that Rose met people from exotic locales such as Guatemala, Colombia, Ecuador, and even the Bronx.
It was also at Univision that Rose’s entrepreneurial spirit began to emerge. Rose recognized through his interactions with young Latinos and research that the “larger half” of the Latino market (the US-born or American Latinos) was under-served. Rose combined his newfound knowledge of the US Hispanic market with his knowledge of the TV industry and began developing a new business model targeted to US-born Latinos with culturally relevant English language media.
In 2000, with a lot of ideas in his head but little money in the bank, Rose left the safety of the corporate world to strike out on his own and began Artist & Idea Management (DBA – AIM Tell-A-Vision Group®) to produce TV in English for, from and about American Latinos. Rose formed “American Latino Syndication” on a shoestring and, from 2001 through 2008, independently produced hundreds of episodes of the pioneering, nationally syndicated TV shows (“American Latino TV” and “LatiNation”).
The shows attracted over 100 broadcast affiliates, a cable network deal, millions of dollars in sponsorships, and tens of millions of viewers over the years as Rose received national recognition as an expert in the U.S. Hispanic-targeted media and marketing industry.
Ready for a new challenge and craving the opportunity to indulge his love of travel, Rose negotiated the sale of American Latino Syndication to Los Angeles-based LATV Networks in 2008 and began pursuing his passion of world travel full time.
Rose lived and traveled abroad in Latin America for a year. His travels produced life-changing experiences that inspired him to develop what he felt was missing from the US commercial television landscape- an authentic and real travel show. He wanted to showcase travel that did not revolve around high-end luxury or focus solely on food but authentic cultural experiences in a socially aware context that anyone, regardless of income or status, could enjoy.
Rose reconnected with a small team of trusted associates. They collaborated to produce Raw Travel®, a grassroots adventure travel show highlighting off-the-beaten-path destinations, sustainable travel (ecotourism), giving back (voluntourism), and authentic cultural experiences with some punk rock music thrown in for good measure.
Raw Travel premiered in 2013 on broadcast TV syndication in just over 60 cities. Today, Raw Travel is broadcast weekly on affiliates (CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, CW) in 186 cities that cover 97% of the US. The show is also exhibited internationally in dozens of territories on major TV outlets. Episodes are also viewed on major airlines such as American Airlines, Delta, Air Canada, Finnair, and many more as well as streaming platforms and on YouTube.
Rose is also an avid supporter and advocate for Ukraine. Having visited multiple times before and after the full invasion in 2022, Rose has filmed several episodes in Ukraine, most notably the documentary series and film “My Summer in Ukraine”, which was filmed in 2023 and debuted on television and film screens in 2024.
A tireless advocate, Rose has traveled the world raising funds and awareness for Ukraine’s fight for freedom and helping multiple grassroots causes within Ukraine. He’s advocated on behalf of Ukraine to political leaders in Washington, DC, several times. He has been featured as a speaker and presenter at various venues and interviewed by major media outlets about his Ukraine experience. He also works tirelessly to call attention to the modern scourge of Russian-fueled disinformation
When not working on assisting Ukraine, working on Raw Travel, or traveling the world (or doing all three at once), Rose reads voraciously, volunteers, blogs, and runs his small digital record label, “Punk Outlaw Records.”
He is often a featured speaker or panelist at various travel, media, and trade shows (press). He is a passionate and published writer and member of numerous television, film, journalism and travel organizations.
